Our Pastor
Larry K. Hobbs serves as Senior Pastor of Victory Baptist Church. At the age of 21, Pastor Hobbs began serving in the ministry as the Interim Pastor of the Victory Baptist Church of North Fort Myers, Florida. Once they found a full time pastor, Pastor Hobbs became the Youth Pastor for several years. This he did while maintaining a job at a marketing company as an Account Executive.
Desiring to be in the ministry full-time, Pastor Hobbs accepted a position to serve as a Youth Pastor/Christian School Administrator near Queens, NY. While there, Pastor Hobbs married the love of his life, Alisa Wodicka. After serving for some time there, Pastor Hobbs answered God's call to move to the Denver, Colorado area.
Shortly after moving to Colorado, he joined the staff of Elmwood Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Gary Randall. There he served as Youth Pastor, Christian School Principal, Nursing Home Ministry Director and Bus Ministry Director. During this time, the Lord gave Pastor and Mrs. Hobbs their first child - Simeon Kyle Hobbs.
Feeling God's leading to South Florida, Pastor Hobbs and his family made the tough decision to leave Denver and move to the Miami area. With a heart for church planting, Pastor Hobbs began the Victory Baptist Church of Homestead, FL on January 20th, 2008. As a result of this ministry, hundreds of souls have come to know Christ as Saviour.
As the church continues to grow, so does the Pastor's home. Since he has been here, the Lord has given to Pastor and Mrs. Hobbs two more children: Silas Alan and Kathleen Marie. Pastor Hobbs has a passion for preaching and a love for the Lord. This, coupled with a desire to make a difference in the lives of people, has afforded him the opportunities to preach at youth camps, revivals, and conferences.
Pastor Hobbs has chosen as his life verse, Romans 5:20, Moreover the law entered, that offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
